Jedburgh sits on the main A68 just 10 miles from the border of England and approximately an hour’s drive from Scotland Capital City of Edinburgh.  Dominated by an amazing 12th century Augustine Abbey, Jedburgh’s picturesque market town boasts not only stunning panoramic views of the countryside but a friendliness and welcoming atmosphere you have come to expect from the Scottish Borders.

Forming part of the Historic Gateway to Scotland, Jedburgh offers many of the features you would expect from a borders town including, cafes, museums, hotels, restaurants and of course delicious homemade ice cream.  There is ample free parking just minutes from the many shop’s offering everything from home baking to fine wine.

The Royal Burgh of Jedburgh is steeped in history too.  Visit the local prison, now a museum, and experience Victorian life in its daunting castle jail.  Jedburgh is renowned for its links to famous people including Sir Walter Scott, Robert Burns and William Wordsworth.  Bonnie Prince Charlie is even said to have frequented the town.

Visitors can also experience the life of Mary Queen of Scots. Visit her 16th Century fortified house and walk the beautiful gardens as you are taken back in time to the tragic life of one of Scotland most influential female figures.
Jedburgh focuses heavily on Country Life and boasts many marked country walks and outdoor pursuits.  Enjoy the annual Jedburgh Callants Festival as well as the many opportunities to try golf, fishing and horse riding.

Within the town itself you can benefit from some of the specialist shops including eateries, clothes shops, wedding shops and artwork as well as its very own award winning butchers. The very popular Farmers Market held monthly is a fantastic way to sample the delights of the countryside while the regularly held continental market offers up the opportunity to sample something different.
